‘When I had my first child 20 years ago, I really struggled. I felt very anxious. All of my confidence and sense that I understood myself and could cope disappeared…Something that really blew me away was that difficult experiences from my own childhood came to the surface and had to be reworked at each age that my child was. At the same time, I was training to be a clinical psychologist. I felt I learnt more from my introduction to parenting than any doctorate could teach, including a healthy dose of humility!
I set up BrightPIP because I’ve been there and know how devastating it can feel not to be able to connect with your child the way you want to - despite loving them more than anything. I feel passionately about letting the world know these barriers can be overcome with the right caring compassionate support. Please know that practitioners at BrightPIP will never judge you as a parent and will always be there respectfully to learn from you on your journey of parenthood. I am forever grateful we have the honour of working with babies and young families in the first 1001 days, the most important time of their lives’
